Process control system at water management
The SCADA system WinCC of SIEMENS was adapted by us for using in the water industry:
A monitoring central station with WinCC PC enables
- remote data request
- control and regulation
- monitoring
- archiving and recording
(in particular counter and quantities)
of any number of substations (water stations, tower tanks, pumps, fountains, pipeline systems) via various communication channels:
- dedicated lines about own or SINAUT drivers, protocols ST1, ST7
- phone modem analog/ISDN via SINAUT drivers, protocols ST1, ST7
- GSM via SINAUT drivers, protocol ST7
- Profibus via repeaters or multidrop modems TD29P (Westermo, distances in km-range, normal telecommunication cable)
- MPI/Profibus via Ethernet SHDSL extender (Westermo, distances in km-range, normal telecommunication cable)
- DSL communication
serial (ASCII, 3964R, RK512) / binary signals / Ethernet via ADSL 2 / 2 + router with integrated RS232 terminal server port (Westermo), communication can take place without changing the serial protocol, secure VPN tunnel (Virtual Private Network) on Internet, T-DSL Business tariff, fixed IP, configuration/remote maintenance via Internet - m2m communication via GPRS/UMTS
serial (ASCII, 3964R, RK512) / binary signals / Ethernet via UMTS/HSUPA router with integrated RS232 ports and binary I/O (Westermo), secure VPN tunnel (Virtual Private Network) on Internet, mobile access currently via T-Mobile or Vodafone, closed user group, mdex fixed.IP, configuration/remote maintenance via OpenVPN
In plants, both old and new control components (e.g. S5, S7) can be mixed and several construction sections spread over any period of time can be connected. Old components (S5) can be migrated if necessary to S7. In the next image you can see a layout of such a process control system:
